Indulge your sweet tooth on the sweetest weekend of the year in Hannibal, Missouri! Chocolate Passports are for sale at this link for the wildly popular Chocolate Extravaganza, coming up March 7-9 in Historic Downtown Hannibal. That’s right, three days of celebrating all things chocolate!

Chocolate Extravaganza is the best kind of excuse to gather your friends for a weekend of decadence in Hannibal.  The festival features chocolate treats, chocolate-themed merchandise, exclusive gifts from downtown merchants, coupons, and special deals when you purchase a Chocolate Passport.

Here’s an insiders guide to the Chocolate Extravaganza:

*The standard passport is $30, where you’ll get 5 tickets to trade in for a chocolate-themed treat.  The Chocolate Experience Passport costs $60 for 10 tickets.  The Master Passport features 20 tickets for $120.  You can get as many passports as you want and really become a chocolate connoisseur!  Each passport features tickets that your can redeem at participating businesses.  The passports serve as a guide for your day of indulgence and relaxation.

*You can purchase tickets in advance to pick up later, or you can buy them at the festival.  Either way, you will have to check in at the Mark Twain Museum Gallery at 120 N. Main St. to pick up your tickets.  You’ll get some coupons and information while you’re there.  They have plenty of helpers and the line moves really fast.

*Once you get your passports, then you’ll have to figure out how you want to cash them in.  Numerous downtown merchants are participating. Most items cost just one ticket.

*The Chocolate Extravaganza is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, March 7-9.  But you’ll notice the hours vary for participating stores, so take that into account while you’re shopping with your passport.

If chocolate isn’t necessarily your thing, there’s plenty to do in downtown Hannibal. The shops and art galleries will be open all weekend for buying and browsing. You’ll also want to try our locally owned restaurants and bars in the historic district. You can also take the time to visit the Mark Twain Museum and Gallery.
