The first festival is truly a “sweet” event – the 2025 Chocolate Extravaganza will be Friday, March 7 to Sunday, March 9. Attendees can purchase passports to trade in for decadent gifts made from or inspired by chocolate. Numerous businesses in Historic Downtown Hannibal are looking forward to sharing their chocolatey specialties with you!

This world of fantasy features celebrity guests, gaming opportunities, art contests, cosplay competitions, special vendors, and much more. This festival appeals to visitors of all ages, and will take place Friday, March 28 and Saturday, March 29 at Korf Gymnasium on the Hannibal High School campus.

Next up is the Great Girlfriend Getaway, a special weekend of pampering and gifts just for the ladies. The fun is from Friday, April 11 to Sunday, April 13.

The Twain on Main Festival turns Historic Downtown Hannibal into a wild west-themed adventure inspired by Mark Twain’s book “Roughing It”. The festivities include carefully selected vendors, live reenactments, entertainment at every turn, and fun activities for the entire family on Saturday, May 24 and Sunday, May 25.

Summer just wouldn’t be complete without the 70th Annual National Tom Sawyer Days festival. A dizzying array of fun events and entertainment awaits you, including the annual Independence Day parade, the crowning of the official Tom and Becky Goodwill Ambassadors, the National Fence Painting Contest, an exciting carnival, live music performances, Tricycle Races, Frog Jumping Contest, and a spectacular fireworks display at dusk on July 4.

In autumn, prepare your senses for homemade food, old-fashioned music, gorgeous art and crafts, and other tastes of yesteryear when the 49th Folklife Festival returns to Historic Downtown Hannibal on Saturday, October 18 and Sunday, October 19. This event has been a favorite pastime for visitors for many years, and it is ready to take you back in time with the sights, sounds, tastes, and special qualities of days gone by. No one celebrates Christmas quite like Hannibal does, and the monthlong Victorian Festival of Christmas fills each weekend with fun for everyone such as carolers, horse-drawn carriage rides, visits with Santa Claus, Living Windows displays, a Christmas parade, historic home tours, and many other ways to ring in the holiday season.
