Take a tour of the colorful murals throughout Hannibal, reflecting a wide variety of moments in history, beautiful imagery, and fun themes.

City of Murals

Most of these murals have been painted by artists Bob Allen and Ray Harvey.

2019, Hannibal’s Bicentennial, brought us the unique “Ghost Signs” – new paintings that reflect old advertisements that were common on the sides of buildings in the 1800s. These include the Ladies Shoe advertisement, Bear Creek Lime Co. and the Diamond Jo Line Steamers signs that can be found downtown. These were all items or companies that could once be found in Hannibal.

Historic ghost signs are just the beginning! Have fun exploring these murals, which appear all around Hannibal. Many are in Historic Downtown, which makes a great outdoor walk and photo opportunity. Others may be a short drive but are certainly worth it! The blog post about our murals has each location with a pin on the map to show you the way.
