Hike the Pirate Ridge Trail as a group and see how the habitat for bats improvement project is coming along.

Gale Rublee, Nature interpreter, said the group will hike the Pirate Ridge trail and see how the habitat for bats improvement project is coming along. The trail is more than 2 miles and includes steep inclines. Hopefully ticks won’t be active yet but take precautions anyway. Part of the trail is rugged so walking poles and sturdy shoes are recommended along with a water bottle. This program is weather permitting so check www.hannibalparks.org or Facebook for updates.
It’s said that March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb. The weather is unpredictable but Hannibal Parks and Recreation nature programs are available for guided winter strolls through Sodalis Nature Preserve. Nature interpreter Gale Rublee will lead the programs along with members of the Mississippi Hills Master Naturalists. Nature programs are free thanks to sponsorship from Hannibal BASF.
