Summer is the time to play in water. Twenty years ago, we would not want to walk in Bear Creek but since then it has been cleaned up and the water quality has greatly improved. We’ll meander in the creek, look under rocks and see what critters we can find. Wear sturdy water shoes or old sneakers and clothes you can get wet. There are still some sharp objects in the water so shoes that protect your whole foot are recommended (not sandals). We’ll pick up trash along the way, too. Programs are led by Hannibal Parks and Recreation’s Nature Interpreter, Gale Rublee, and members of the Mississippi Hills Missouri Master Naturalist chapter.
