Arizona Cleaver Stemons was raised in Hannibal, MO and attended Douglass School. While attending Howard University in Washington, D.C., she organized and co-founded Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated and served as its first president. After completing her education, Stemons returned to Hannibal to teach French and Business at Douglass School and served as the Director of the Commercial Department, equipping young people with practical and academic skills.

By hosting the health fair at the park named after Stemons, sorority members seek to honor an innovative leader who rose from modest beginnings to help shape African American philanthropy and service globally.
