During mid-summer birds may not be as vocal as they raise their babies and the young ones fledge, but there’s always something to see and hear during an early morning walk at the Sodalis Nature Preserve. Bring binoculars and check out the Merlin Bird App for learning bird calls. Beginner and experienced birders welcome. (This is an easy, slow walk on the flat parts of the paved trail and covers about a mile.)

Programs are led by the Hannibal Parks and Recreation’s Nature Interpreter, Gale Rublee, and members of the Mississippi Hills Master Naturalist chapter.
